Upon completion, schedule a Scoutmaster Conference to earn the rank of Scout. Requirement #

8-10 Feb-08 Spend at least one night on a patrol or troop campout. Sleep in a tent TF #2,3
you have helped pitch. On the campout, assist in preparing and cooking one of your Patrol's meals.  
Present yourself to your leader properly dressed before going on an overnight camping trip. TF #1
Show the gear you will use. Show the right way to pack and carry it.
Tell why it is important for each patrol member to share in meal preparation and cleanup  TF # 3
  and explain the importance of eating together.
15-Feb-08 Participate in an approved (minimum one hour) service project. Troop 505 asists Knights of Columbus fish-fry SC # 4
every Friday during lent.  This helps a Scout attain service hours and support our Charter Organization.
16-Feb-08 Record your best in the following tests: push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, standing long jump, 1/4 mile walk/run TF # 10a

18-Feb-08 Know your patrol name, give the patrol yell, and describe your patol flag. TF# 8
25-feb-08 Demonstrate how to whip and fuse the ends of a rope TF # 4a
3-Mar-08 Demonstrate how to display, raise, lower, and fold the American flag. TF # 6
Camporee
7-9 Mar-08 Repeat from memory and explain in your own words the Scout Oath, Law, motto, and slogan TF # 7
Demonstrate how to care for someone that is choking. TF # 12a
Show first aid for the following: simple cuts and scratches, Blisters on the hand and foot, minor TF # 12b
burns or scalds, bites or stings of insects and ticks, poisonous snakebite, nosebleed,
frostbite and sunburn
15-Mar-08 Show improvement in the activities listed in requirement 10a after practicing for 30 days. TF # 10b

24 Mar-08 Explain the rules of safe hiking, both on the highway and cross-country, during the day and at night.  TF # 5
Explain what to do if you are lost.
31-Mar-08 Explain why we use the buddy system in Scouting. TF # 9a
Explain the importance of the buddy system as it relates to your personal safety on  TF # 9b
outings and in your neighborhood. Describe what a bully is and how you should respond to one.
Inks Lake/Longhorn Caverns Campout
4-6 Apr-08 Demonstrate you know how to tie the following knots and tell what their uses are: . TF # 4b
two half hitches and the taut-line hitch.
     Identify local poisonous plants; tell how to treat for exposure to them. TF# 11
   On one of these campouts, select your patrol site and sleep in a tent that you pitched. SC # 2b
12-Apr-08 Demonstrate your ability to jump feetfirst into water over your head in depth, level off and swim 25 feet SC # 7b
on the surface, stop, turn sharply, resume swimming, then return to your starting place.
14-Apr-08 Upon completing all Tenderfoot requirments schedule, Scout Spirit, Scoutmaster Conference, and
Board of Review for advancement to Tenderfoot rank.

28-Apr-08 Show what to do for "hurry" cases of stopped breathing, serious bledding, and internal poisoning. SC # 6a
Monthly Campout
2-4 May -08 Participate in a flag ceremony for your school, religious institution, chartered organization, SC # 3
community, or troop activity.
On one campout, demonstrate proper care, sharpening, and use of the knife, saw, and ax, SC # 2c
and describe when they should be used.
Use the tools listed in requirement 2c to prepare tinder, kindling, and fuel for a cooking fire. SC # 2d
Discuss when it is appropriate to use a cooking fire and a lightweht stove.  Discuss the safety  SC # 2e
procedures for using both.
Demonstrate how to light a fire and a lightweight stove. SC # 2f
On one campout, plan and cook over an open fire one hot breakfast or lunch for yourself, SC # 2g
selecting foods from the food pyramid.  Explain the importance of good nutrition.  Tell how
transport, store, and prepare the foods you selected.
12-May-08 Prepare a personal first aid kit to take with you on a hike. SC # 6b
Court of Honor
19-May-08 Since joining, have participated in five separate troop/patrol activities (other than troop/patorl meetings), SC #2a
two of which included camping overnight.
Summer Camp - Buffalo Trails Scout Camp
12-19 July -08 Summer camp usually has many great opportunities for Scouts to do TFC requirements.  However,
the camp staff will not sigh off requirements on TRC.  The Scout must have this done by the troop.  Upon 
returning from fullfilling requirments demonstrate skills to a Troop Guide, Scoutmaster, or someone
designated by your Scoutmaster for approval.
